20 Years of Char Studies at Kemess Mine: What have we learned?
February 05, 2014
Dave Bustard, Fisheries Biologist, Bustard & Associates
Dave Bustard has been involved with fish studies at the Kemess Mine, located in the upper Finlay River 200 kms northeast of Smithers, for the past 20 years. He was involved in background fisheries studies around the proposed mine site prior to construction and helped develop mitigation and compensation projects to offset the mine impacts. Dave continues to carry on monitoring fish population response to the mine development and its fish projects. Dave will share some of the results and provide insights as to what he has learned from this project and the response of bull trout and Dolly Varden populations residing in the watershed.
