Sustainable Transportation: How Can a Carshare Contribute?

The GO2 Carshare Cooperative aims to help reduce our community’s GHG emissions, contribute to the region’s sustainable transportation options and help residents reduce the amount of money they spend on owning and operating their private vehicles. Its vision is to encourage our community to actively choose less energy-intensive transportation options and to support a variety of transportation modes in our community that meet local needs.
GO2 launched operations in April 2010 and has nine active members, including one corporate member. It recently added a used truck to its fleet to complement the 2010 Toyota Prius. The carshare was the winner of the “Environmental Business of the Year” award at the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce’s 2010 Community & Business Awards. Learn more at www.go2carshare.ca.
