Call for applications: M.Sc. research opportunity

Researchers are invited to apply for a 2-year M.Sc. position with UNBC in a funded, collaborative project with the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations & Rural Development (FLNRORD).

Applicants are asked to send an expression of interest, detailed CV, transcripts, and the names of 3 references to Oscar.Venter@unbc.ca. The preferred start date for this position is April/May 2018, with the potential for a September 2018 start.

EcoAction Community Funding Program

Environment and Climate Change Canada's (ECCC) EcoAction Community Funding Program is now accepting applications for funding until March 21, 2018 for projects beginning summer 2018.

Funding is available for new projects that engage Canadians and clearly demonstrate measurable, positive environmental results related to clean water or climate change. Preference will be given to proposals that engage Indigenous Peoples, youth or small businesses.

Environmental Damages Fund

The Environmental Damages Fund has announced that new funding is now available in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba.

Wildlife Camera Collar Evaluation Study

The Forestry and Range Sciences Lab is hoping to find plant taxonimists to view video footage of moose and caribou either for a small amount of compensation or for co-authorship on the resulting publications. The lab seeks 3-4 people with knowledge of the plant species found in the alpine, montane, and boreal systems of NE British Columbia, as well as the Kenai region of Alaska.
