2008-02-06 Timber Growth & Value Conference
On Feb. 6 & 7, the Bulkley Valley Research Centre hosted the Timber Growth & Value Conference at the Smithers Golf and Country Club. The event brought 74 researchers and practitioners from across western Canada together to discuss the state of knowledge regarding timber growth and value, share operational applications of this knowledge, and talk about future knowledge requirements. Daytime sessions, chaired by Dave Wilford, Research Officer and Hydrologist with the BC Ministry of Forests and Range in Smithers, included a roster of 28 speakers who focused on presenting results of applied research from the themes of the Forest Science Program Timber Growth and Value Program.
