Bulkley Valley Research Centre - Science in the Public Interest

Resource Management

Northern B.C. is a vast and mostly unoccupied region, boasting enormous caches of natural resources. Traditionally fuelled by forestry, industries that are currently expanding in the north include mining, hydropower and natural gas development. With that expansion comes the need to provide reliable research on socio-economic impacts, environmental management and cumulative effects. The Bulkley Valley Research Centre is able to provide these services to industry, First Nations, government and proponents of small- and large-scale development projects. We conduct objective, reliable research that assists informed decision-making and contributes to the long-term sustainability of our region’s economic, environmental and cultural base.
