The Ministry research program and the Bulkley Valley Research Centre are collaborating in modelling and field studies to assess stewardship implications of the rate and patterning of forest harvesting with immediate emphasis on Mountain Pine Beetle Strategies in the Nadina Forest Disrict (Lakes and Morice TSA's).  Preliminary landscape models writeen in SELES (Spatially Explicit Landscape Event Simulator) require further revision for assessing some of the beetle scenarios on selected wildlife species.  These are also being used to design complimentary field studies.  This agreement will allow the Bulkley Valley Research Centre to lend additional expertise to the project, in close collaborations with Ministry research staff, in a a timely manner.  The deliverables on this contract will be programming changes to SELES scrips and reporting of the results of test scenarios.
