Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board - RAMP
Project Reference Number: 2011-07
Project Status: Multi-year/Continuing
Led by: Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board
Funder: Ministry of Natural Resource Operations, Real Estate Foundation, Wetzin'kwa Community Forest Corporation
The Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board (BVCRB) is currently facilitating a Recreation Access Management Plan (RAMP) process for summer backcountry recreation in the Bulkley Valley. This plan will seek to reduce conflict between recreation user groups through area designations and use agreements. The Summer RAMP will include both motorized recreation such as ATVing and non-motorized recreation such as hiking.
The RAMP will involve all of the major outdoor recreation clubs and associations, as well as members of the public, and will be guided by a professional facilitator.
The Bulkley Valley RAMP will contribute to a pilot project in the implementation of the BC Government’s Provincial Trails Strategy.
Funding for the RAMP process has been generously contributed by Recreation Sites and Trails BC, the Real Estate Foundation of BC and Wetzin'kwa Community Forest Corporation, with additional support provided by the Bulkley Valley Research Centre and Northwest Community College.
