Ainsley Brown

Ainsley has more than 10 years of experience managing applied environmental programs, developing outreach and extension materials and building partnerships across government, Indigenous organizations and non-profit sectors.

Ainsley spent two decades living and working on Haida Gwaii, where her work included seabird and forest bird research, marine mammal monitoring, invasive species management, and environmental stewardship initiatives. Most recently, she led a large-scale invasive species response program for the Council of the Haida Nation focused on monitoring, suppression and community engagement. Her work is grounded in collaboration, knowledge sharing, and supporting practical approaches to sustainable land and resource management across British Columbia.

Ainsley recently relocated to Smithers with her husband and two active kids and is excited to put down roots in the Bulkley Valley while exploring the region’s ecosystems and landscapes.
