Jim Pojar, Irving Fox and Volunteer Distinction Award Nominations
The annual BVRC awards are open for nominations. Each year the Centre provides the opportunity for recognition of those who have contributed to the understanding of responsible natural resource stewardship in northwest BC.
The Jim Pojar Award is granted to an individual or group who through a publication has made a significant contribution to the public appreciation or scholarly understanding of the ecological and community dimensions of natural resource use, and/or the sustainability of natural resources in northwest BC.
The Irving Fox Award recognizes an outstanding contribution to the sustainability of natural resources in northwest BC through either a specific project or a lifetime contribution.
The Volunteer Distinction Award celebrates the time and commitment of a volunteer member of the BVRC.
Award nominations can be submitted to info@bvcentre.ca. Deadline for nominations is April 17, 2026. Awards will be presented at the 2026 AGM on Tuesday, May 5 at The Old Church in Smithers.
