Learn About Your Lake: Investigating Lake Ecology

Join us next Thursday evening for a workshop about lake ecology led by Marge Sidney. You’ll learn how to keep lakes healthy, the effect of seasonal changes on lakes, what lives in these bodies of water, how to become a Water Ranger, and more! Participants are encouraged to bring their canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards.
About Marge Sidney
Marge is a Registered Professional Biologist and retired in April 2019 after 40 years with the Ministry of Environment in Kamloops. Her background is fisheries, working on many lake management projects such as lake inventory, lake classification for land use planning, as well as many other projects. Since retiring she has been able to work under contract with the BC Lake Engagement Initiative and reconnect with lakes and stewardship groups around the province.
This workshop is a partnership between BCLSS, Skeena Knowledge Trust and the Bulkley Valley Research Centre with funding from LUSH, the Real Estate Foundation of BC, MakeWay, and Wetzin’kwa Community Forest Corporation.
