Katelyn Michaud

Kate is an Intermediate Field Research Technician with the BVRC, supporting post-fire recovery data collection. She received her Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science and Biology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where coursework and field experiences sparked her interest in ecology.

After beginning her career in the Okanagan, Kate moved to Smithers in 2023 and quickly found a home in the Bulkley Valley. She enjoys observing how plant communities change across landscapes and through the seasons. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, canoeing, painting, and keeping an ear out for birds wherever she goes.
